The type2 connection is only used on some Weber grills manufactured between 1999-2001. If you usually swap your tank a local hardware store or other exchange location, you have a type1, because they don't carry the special type2 valves. Ultimately, you'll need to look at your grill and see if it's a screw-on (Type1) or spring-loaded (type2) connection.
You can upgrade your tank from a Type 2 to a Type 1 for a cost of $11.99. When you order your next exchange, choose the upgrade option to upgrade your tank to a Type 1. We cannot exchange your Type 2 tanks for Type 1 tanks without the cost of the upgrade.
